Beats Pill 2024
As a reminder, the latest version of the Beats Bluetooth speaker, the Pill+, was launched in 2015 and then removed from the catalog in 2022before returning sporadically in the form of collaborations such as with the clothing manufacturer Stüssy and Book Projects, the firm of NBA star Devin Booker. Beats therefore took its time before unveiling this 2024 version revised from top to bottom. For this launch, Beats has also relied on the return of a fictional character to promote its new speaker!
The manufacturer is launching a new speaker with this new Pill 2024 racetrack
(oval shaped reminiscent of American car racing circuits) with a reinforced membrane and a magnet of larger volume guaranteeing according to Beats much better rendering and the ability to play at high volume while reducing distortion (the woofer moves 90% more air than the previous generation, and allows the speaker to do without a passive radiator), as well as a new tweeter. This configuration therefore implies a monophonic rendering, but it will be possible to pair two Beats Pill to obtain stereo (a mode Amplification
in dual mono is also available once the two speakers are coupled).
The speaker has a USB-C port for charging which can also be used to recharge another device and enjoy lossless wired audio (it will not be possible to benefit from wired stereo coupling). The speakers are slightly tilted to improve positioning in relation to the listener and the speaker is IP67 certified so you can take it to the beach or swimming pool without fear.
The Beats Pill 2024, of which you can find our test, has a microphone for calls and voice assistants, Bluetooth 5.3 with SBC and AAC codecseasily connects to Apple devices like Android and supports location services for both ecosystemshas buttons for the different controls as well as a wrist strap and offers autonomy of up to 24 hours.
