Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi has left the Moroccan national team camp, which is preparing to face the Lesotho national team tomorrow. The player, pillar of the Atlas Lions, will join the training of his French team, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), we learn from verified sources.
The same sources confirmed to “Hesport” that the decision came on the basis of the close relations between the Royal Moroccan Football Federation and the Parisian club, thus allowing Hakimi to leave the camp and join the preparation of his team for upcoming matches.
The sources explained that this procedure was carried out in prior coordination between the administration of Paris Saint-Germain, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation and the technical staff of the Moroccan national team, especially since the Lesotho match is considered a “formality”.
After the Moroccan national team has already secured its qualification for the final phase of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations as the host country.
Note that Paris Saint-Germain had previously expressed its cooperation with the Moroccan national team, allowing Hakimi to participate in the recent Olympic Games, despite the refusal of many European clubs to release their players to participate in the same competition.
The Moroccan national team leads its group in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers after winning its last five matches.
