Croatian Luka Modric became the oldest scorer in the history of the football Euros by scoring a goal against Italy, this Monday, June 24 in Leipzig for Croatia’s last match in Group B.
Just after missing a penalty, saved by Gianluigi Donnarumma, the Real Madrid midfielder scored with an opportunistic strike from the area in the 55th minute, after another save from the Italian goalkeeper.
Aged 38 years and 289 days, Modric beats the record set by Austrian Ivica Vastic in 2008, at 38 years and 257 days.
