This Saturday, the police made a horrific discovery in an apartment in Ixelles: the bodies of a woman and two children. A man, who confessed, was arrested. We know more about the suspect's profile.
We know more about the man arrested in an apartment on Avenue Jeanne, in Ixelles, for having killed his 40-year-old partner and two children, one barely 1 year old, the other 13 years old. According to information collected by our colleagues at HLN and the DH, the author, whose initials are JP, is a real estate agent. His wife reportedly ended their relationship.
On Friday, the evening of the murder and the day before the bodies were discovered, the 54-year-old man posted a video on Facebook: “The 3 most beautiful years of my life, thank you to my beautiful wife who gave me a wonderful daughter, N., to N. and A. I wish you all to know that one day!!!“, he wrote in the caption. In this video, he briefly speaks: “There you go, I just got back. It’s 10:30 p.m., a little past. Well I miss you. See you tomorrow. Or see you soon. Ciao“, before a montage of images of the children and his wife.
Between 10 and 11 p.m., JP killed his wife and the two children and spent the night near the corpses.

On Saturday, alerted by a worried family member, the police went to the scene. She had to insist that the man open the door. In the apartment, the police discovered the terrible crime scene: “The woman and youngest child appear to have died from gunshot wounds. The cause of death of the third victim is under investigation“, communicated the prosecution. The possibility of poisoning is mentioned regarding the teenager, but the investigation has yet to confirm it.
The suspect did not resist arrest and quickly confessed. According to De Standaard, he had written on the walls of the house that he was “sorry” for his actions.
A judicial exclusion zone has been set up. “The laboratory of the federal judicial police, a ballistic expert and a forensic doctor were seized by the Brussels public prosecutor's office. In addition, an investigating judge was requested for murder“, adds the prosecution in its press release.
