A fire broke out in the city center of Metz, during the night from Saturday to Sunday, around 4 a.m. The flames are gone in one of the two basements of a building located on rue Ambroise-Thomasjust opposite the cathedral. Strong releases of smoke spread across three floors, which explains the large number of men and vehicles mobilized by the Moselle firefighters. This Sunday morning around 8 a.m., there were no less than 90 men and 45 vehicles, according to the Codis officer (Departmental Fire and Rescue Operational Center) contacted by France Bleu Lorraine.
Residents evacuated
Around twenty people, living in the apartments on the upper floors, were evacuated, while the emergency services intervened, and taken care of by the town hall. Among them, two people were slightly injured. The intervention was still in progress this Sunday morning.
