At 58, boxing legend Mike Tyson found himself in the ring facing Jake Paul, a 27-year-old influencer turned boxer. The eight-round fight attracted more than 72,000 spectators in Arlington, Texas, and was watched by millions of viewers on Netflix. It was ultimately Jake Paul who won by decision of the judges.

This is the striking generational gap between the two boxers. Mike Tyson, the multiple world heavyweight champion of the 1980s and 1990s, who has more than 50 victories, had not fought since 2005. Jake Paul, with only 10 victories and 1 defeat on his record, is for his part a boxing novice.

Although Mike Tyson showed impressive stamina for his age throughout the fight, he struggled to keep up with his young opponent’s pace. After his defeat, he hinted that he might get back into the ring.

The confrontation is therefore profitable for the two stars, in addition to generating a lot of attention in the media and on social networks.
