The man finally surrendered after about two hours of negotiation and the hostages were freed.
A man armed with a knife took refuge in a pizzeria in Issy-les-Moulineaux (Hauts-de-Seine) with four hostages this Saturday early in the afternoon, TF1/LCI learned from a police source, before the madman surrendered around 4 p.m.
A column from the Paris Research and Intervention Brigade (BRI) was deployed and negotiations took place for almost two hours between the man and the police. The perpetrator of the hostage-taking is the son of the restaurant owner, unknown to the police, but with a profile linked to drug addiction, according to our information. The terrorist trail has been ruled out.
An established security perimeter
The four hostages were exclusively employees of the restaurant, according to our information. The latter were released unharmed. The suspect was taken into custody.
