After eight months of intense struggle, the outcome of the 2024 MotoGP season is fast approaching. During this final round played at the last minute in Barcelona, the fault of the severe bad weather which hit Valencia, Francesco Bagnaia once again fended off Jorge Martin’s title by winning the sprint race. Starting from pole position, the double world champion was able to count on the help of his teammate to easily win. Enea Bastianini (2nd) managed to hurt Jorge Martin during a good part of the race before seeing him take 2nd place on the 5th lap. The Spaniard seemed well on his way to holding this position before finally cracking on the last lap in the face of a final assault from Enea Bastianini in turn 5. As a result, the Italian driver finished second ahead of the Pramac of Jorge Martin (3rd) who will have to wait until tomorrow to win the title. To win the world crown, Jorge Martin must do no worse than 10th if Francesco Bagnaia wins the race, or must do no worse than 15th if Francesco Bagnaia finishes 2nd.
