The first channel could indeed do well soon since according to information from L'Equipe, TF1 would be very interested in the Six Nations Tournament. Currently broadcast on France Télévisions until 2026, the Six Nations Tournament could therefore end on TF1, already broadcaster of the last Rugby World Cup in September and October 2023.

It turns out that Europe's leading channel, disappointed with the audiences for football and Didier Deschamps' Blues, would like to ride on the good audiences for the French XV, notably with Antoine Dupont who is very popular with the French. By broadcasting the 6 Nations Tournament, currently broadcast on France Télévisions, TF1 would secure more than 6 million viewers for the French team's matches and this potential is immense. “The Six Nations takes place every year, the World Cup is organized every four years, one would not replace the other, we do not think that way in our investments. We look at how much it could cost and how much it could bring in“, confided TF1 sports director Julien Millereux to L'Équipe. Suffice to say that TF1 is ready to strike a big blow in terms of rugby. France TV, owner of the rights since 1992, does not, however, have the intention to let it happen.
