After almost 20 years without fighting, Mike Tyson returns to the ring this Friday.
The 58-year-old former champion faces influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul.
The result is very juicy bonuses for both fighters.
This is an event not to be missed. Boxing veteran and former world champion (58 fights, 50 victories), Mike Tyson, returns to the ring this Friday, November 15. Now aged 58, the former American heavyweight, who has not fought for almost 20 years, responded to Jake Paul's challenge. It is therefore a real clash of generations, between the fifty-year-old and the 27-year-old influencer turned boxer, which spectators at AT&T Stadium, the usual venue of the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA, will witness.
This confrontation, the first in history broadcast live by the Netflix platform, promises to be particularly juicy. Whatever the outcome, the two men will receive an… eight-figure sum. “I'm here to win $40 million (i.e. approximately 37.9 million euros) and eliminate a legend”swaggers Jake Paul at a press conference. “I don't care about anything else, he's the one who wanted this to be a professional fight and he's going to get knocked out for real. You'll see on his record: Jake Paul knocks out Mike Tyson; I'm not there to do anything else”he adds, confidently. The amount of his “price money” is inflated by his status as promoter of the event, which allows him to recover part of the revenue.
For his part, the former legend should receive around 20 million dollars (19 million euros), according to several media and his friend Henry Cejudo, a UFC legend. “I feel like there's a really good payday for Mike. He's probably going to end up making close to 20 million and he's about to turn 58. Literally, Jake is 27 and Mike is 57”declares the latter, in comments reported by The Mirror. A hell of a lot of money for a few minutes of combat.
