Investments

Jean-François Collin (min) wonders: “It seems to me that the big investments date back several years. We are almost doubling from 2021 to 2023!” Following this intervention, Alderman Daniel Dumont gave a broad presentation. He underlines it: “It has been 4 years since the price last increased. We were coming out of Covid, the floods, we made the decision together.” The commune of Érezée has 2,300 meters and 120 kilometers of pipes. The alderman talks about investments and anticipations of construction sites on the network, particularly when there is road work. Significant investments, particularly in leak detection, have also been made. He also points to rising costs in many areas. During this council meeting, perfectly illustrating the alderman’s words, a purchase of parts for water distribution, for an estimated amount of €150,000 excluding VAT, was voted on. Reduce certain costs? Daniel Dumont highlights the refusal of the Walloon Region in particular for a photovoltaic field which could have reduced the price of electricity consumption for capture.

The representatives also spoke favorably for a motion against the proliferation of raccoons. The president of the CPAS, Julien Peter explains: “It is a threat to human health and to biodiversity. It is complicated to eradicate them. Alone, we are helpless. This motion aims to make the regional authorities react.” The last session of this mandate was closed with interventions by Jean-François Collin and the mayor Michel Jacquet. They thanked all the representatives, particularly those who will no longer serve, for their work over the years.
