Before being rushed to Périgueux hospital, the young man managed to reveal the identity of his attacker just before losing consciousness. The location of the attack remains unknown. According to France Bleu Périgord, the two individuals had an altercation in the lobby of a building in the city center.
Fifteen minutes later, at 10:50 p.m., the police teams went to rue Antoine-Gadaud, to the home of a man known to their services, who may correspond to the individual designated by the victim. They find him drunk in the courtyard of his building. On him: three knives, a screwdriver and three crack pipes.

Placed in police custody immediately for attempted murder, the 47-year-old man chose several times to remain silent, reports the public prosecutor, Jacques-Édouard Andrault, in a press release. He cites his blood alcohol level to explain memory lapses regarding certain events of his evening.

The stabbed young man died a few hours later in hospital, succumbing to his injuries. The attempted murder is reclassified as murder.

The couple indicted
Presented to the investigating judge on Saturday June 22, the suspect was finally indicted for murder and placed in pre-trial detention. His partner was also indicted for altering a crime scene and will be summoned by the investigating judge. The motive for the murder remains undetermined so far. The victim’s body will very soon be submitted to an autopsy, conducted at the Bordeaux Medico-Legal Institute.
“The suspect has already been the subject of criminal convictions,” specifies Jacques-Édouard Andrault. “On January 30, the Périgueux criminal court sentenced him to twelve months’ imprisonment, including six months suspended for two years for drug trafficking. » He indicates that his partner has never been convicted.
