Stewards had to intervene during the Nations League match between France and Israel on Thursday to prevent supporters of the two nations from clashing in the stands after an incursion by Israeli ultras into an area reserved for French fans.
Videos taken by spectators and posted on the social network X show supporters, some with Israeli flags, running along the rows of seats at the Stade de France while other supporters whistle and boo.
Hostesses and stewards wearing orange bibs moved between the two groups to separate them.
Paris police said they could not comment until they received more information.
The match took place under tight security after violence by supporters of the Maccabi Tel Aviv club in Amsterdam last week following a Europa League match against Ajax.
Violence in Amsterdam erupted after Maccabi fans set fire to a Palestinian flag the previous night, chanted anti-Arab chants and attacked a taxi driver, authorities said.
Femke Halsema, Mayor of Amsterdam, said the incidents constituted a “ poisonous cocktail of anti-Semitism and hooliganism ».
Around 4,000 police officers patrolled outside and inside the stadium in Paris.
There were expected to be only 13,000 spectators in a stadium with a capacity of 80,000.
