The French team welcomed the Israeli selection for the first time since 2004, Thursday November 14, for the 5th and penultimate day of the Nations League group stage. In a difficult context, the Tricolores conceded, like 20 years ago, a 0-0 draw. They are still guaranteed to be in the quarter-finals in March.
A Stade de France which rang hollow. Nearly 4,000 police officers were mobilized around the Stade de France for this meeting against Israel, involved in the war in the Middle East. In a context not very inclined to celebrate, few spectators took their places in the stands. Despite only 16,611 spectators, the lowest figure for a French football team match, a brief clash took place in the stands at the start of the match.
The Blues qualified for the Final 8. The draw was enough, the French team is therefore qualified for the rest of the competition in March. With Italy's victory in Belgium at the same time (1-0), qualification was finally achieved whatever happened.
Heading for Milan. First place in the group is still possible for the French team, but the conditions are stricter after this setback. In Italy, the Blues will have to win with at least a two-goal margin, scoring at least three times. It will be without Eduardo Camavinga, suspended after a new yellow card.
