This is a welcome move as energy prices remain high. UFC-Que Choisir launched, Wednesday November 13 via its subsidiary SAS Que Choisir, a group purchase of gas to allow households to save on their bills.
In order to obtain a financially attractive and legally secure offer, the consumer association organized a call for tenders from national gas suppliers and selected that of Alterna Energie.
It allows you to benefit from a reduction on the price of kWh (excluding taxes and subscription) of between 17 and 22% compared to the average benchmark price of gas for November (TTC) published by the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE). ), depending on the geographic zoning and the consumer’s pricing option (cooking – heating). The price of gas and the subscription – identical to that of the November gas benchmark offer – is fixed for 2 years (excluding changes in taxation).
Concretely, in comparison with the “gateway” offer to which former subscribers to the regulated gas sales tariff (TRVG) have switched, “a household (resident in zone 3 GRDF) using only gas for cooking or domestic hot water and consuming 4,000 kWh per year will save 166 € on its annual bill (573 €, against 739 €) »indicates the association. The gain will be even greater for a household heated with gas: the annual saving amounts to €361 for a consumption of 15,000 kWh of gas per year and €473 for a consumption of 20,000 kWh, according to calculations by UFC-Que Choisir.
Beyond the pricing aspect, the winning offer is characterized by reinforced legal security with a secure contract and support from UFC-Que Choisir in the event of complaints during the first year of subscription.
The operation is open to all consumers (excluding professionals and co-owners) subscribed to gas with the national network distributor (GRDF) and living in mainland France (with the exception of Corsica and the geographical areas served by the companies distribution premises). There is no limitation on the number of subscribers.
Please note, the campaign concerns a change of supplier and not commissioning. You must therefore already have a current contract for your accommodation.

The new gas supply will take place in “a period of 15 days following acceptance of the supply contract, except in exceptional circumstances”specifies the association.
If you subscribe to the offer, you will be asked to pay €12 including tax to cover the costs of organizing the operation. The amount will be reduced to €6 including tax for members of local associations and subscribers to UFC-Que Choisir publications.
