After a second album with disco inflections, Clara Luciani reinvents herself with a third opus, My bloodwith more rock tones. While the release of this new effort is scheduled for this Friday, the singer spoke in the pages of New Obs about his career and
its reputation management. “I find my success quite nice, on a human scale”confides the one whose popularity exploded with In Grenadatitle released in 2018.
Famous, Clara Luciani nonetheless remains modest. “I am not Céline Dion, Stromae or Angèle. I don’t have that level of fame”, she assures before specifying that she had kept a relatively simple daily life. “I made a place for myself without my life changing profoundly. I go to the supermarket in my pajamasoften, and everything goes well”, trust Clara Luciani.
Clara Luciani: how success impacted her social circle
No, for the singer, it was especially her social circle that took a hit with her success. “Success is difficult: it isolates. At the same time, I have never been so surrounded. Sometimes, we have to sort : I am naive enough to welcome bad people present for bad reasons”, explained Clara Luciani.
To avoid disappointments, the young mother chose to “ne keep only those who have accompanied (him) from the beginning”. “I choose to cherish my friends, especially after recent trauma: I lost a lot of loved ones“, she admits.
Clara Luciani: this unfiltered observation of her companion
Clara Luciani can therefore count on the support of those close to her, including her partner, Alex Kapranossinger of the group Franz Ferdinand. The two artists met in 2019 during the Musilac Festival and have not left each other since. The advantage of having a famous spouse from the same background is that they know a lot about the ups and downs of success.
“Alex said something funny and stressful to me”, confides Clara Luciani to Nouvel Obs. “When you release your first album, you’re something new, people are interested in you. In the second, they remain interested, they wonder what you have to show them. On the third, they are surprised: ‘Are you still here?‘”, Alex Kapranos told him. An observation which encouraged Clara Luciani to propose something different for this third album. “I understand the constant need for newness and freshness”, she says.
