“Whatever irritation one may feel towards another contractor or a client, I do not understand how one could have the intention of dismissing it by employing such means “, said the witness, asked to describe his feeling when he learned from investigators that he was the probable third target of repression in his workplace.
The witness’s company is active in the same field as City Façade, the company of the main accused, Youssef Allali. These are specialized in the exterior envelope and waterproofing of buildings. “Youssef Allali and I are not really competitors, because he only works with individuals while I only work for large companies. I know who he is, but I don’t know him,” he said. -he said.
For the witness, it is therefore impossible that the accused could have wanted to attack him – according to the hypothesis that he was targeted – for reasons of heightened competition. He nevertheless shared two thoughts which could have provoked animosity among his colleague.
“We were called to projects which had been carried out by City Façade and which contained a lot of poor workmanship, but we refused to intervene. City Façade offered prices between 30 and 40 percent lower than ours. We never understood how they could do that. The equation was incomprehensible to us. We want to be a company that offers quality work, and quality has a price,” said the entrepreneur.
Like other witnesses before him, he also spoke of financial arrangements between the building trustee OP/Trevi and City Façade. These arrangements would have enabled City Façade to win the tenders when a co-ownership managed by OP/Trevi decided to have its facades renovated. “At the beginning, we responded to calls for tenders from the OP/Trevi trustee, but we quickly stopped wasting our time. It was discouraging to see that it was always City Façade which won the contract,” he said. -he blurted.
Five men must answer for the assassination of Frank Goes, but also for the attempted assassination of an architect. Dylan Duby, aged 28, has confessed to being the author of the stabbings which killed the contractor and to having tried to physically attack the architect. He claimed that he had not intended to kill and that he had been hired to “cause incapacity for work” to the two victims.
Dylan Duby also claimed that a third target had been indicated to him. He did not yet know the person’s name, only indications of their identity. These led investigators to believe that it was the boss of a Schaerbeek company, specializing in the same field as that of the alleged sponsor.
Ismaël Diallo, aged 28, and Gradi Kato Irenge, aged 29, are accused of having provided essential assistance to the author, in particular by providing him with a car and carrying out scouting with him.
Yaser Abau, aged 26, is accused of having acted as an intermediary between the sponsor and the author. He confesses, but he denies having asked Dylan Duby to attack the victim with a weapon such as a knife.
Finally, Youssef Allali, a 37-year-old entrepreneur from Etterbeek, is accused of being the sponsor. He admitted to having mandated Yaser Abau to “put pressure” on Frank Goes, but neither on the architect nor on one of his fellow entrepreneurs who would have been the third target. He denies that there was any question of attacking the victim.
It appears from the file that there were certain commercial disputes between Youssef Allali’s company and certain Frank Goes companies, active in building management, in construction and in the sale or rental of property.
Witness hearings will continue and conclude on Thursday.
