For several years, Guillaume Latendresse has been an important figure in the sports media landscape in Quebec. Whether at The Blue Pocket or to TVA Sportshe made his niche in the industry.

We often see him alongside his lifelong sidekick, Maxim Lapierre.

That said, over the next few weeks, we will no longer see the former CH player. Latendresse has just published a press release in which he explains that he will take a break from his various activities to take care of his mental health.

He’s having a tough time right now, which he possibly attributes to the concussions he suffered during his career.

We will therefore not see it at TVA Sportshas The Blue Pocket or around his team in the LNAH, the Battalion.

The whole team of DLC wishes a speedy recovery to Latendresse in what is a difficult ordeal. Many former athletes unfortunately experience mental health difficulties related to injuries suffered during their career, and it is never easy to deal with such problems.

Let’s hope he gets back on his feet as quickly as possible.

We must also salute the openness of the people with whom he collaborates for allowing him to take time to take care of himself. More and more, we dare to open up about mental health difficulties, and it is important not to minimize the impact they can have on the well-being of individuals.

We know that Latendresse wears several hats in her professional life. We see him very often in the media landscape, and his absence will be a big hole to fill. I wonder if Maxim Lapierre will host La Poche Bleue alone or if he will have a new person at his side while waiting for his partner to return.

That said, the most important thing right now is that the former CH striker takes care of himself. Bravo to him for daring to speak about this publicly: if it can inspire other people to take a step back to take care of their mental health, that will be a good thing.

Prolongation

On social networks, Latendresse was treated to a nice dose of love from other media personalities in the industry, as well as from many Internet users.

It’s a great show of solidarity.
