A fire broke out early this Thursday morning between the Koné aerodrome and the Bellevue district. The violent bush fire required the evacuation of some residents. Firefighters are on site trying to bring the fire under control.
The flames are impressive. Firefighters were called to a fire which broke out near the Bellevue district, located behind the Koné airfield. Homes are threatened, the gendarmes have had to evacuate people from their homes to bring them to safety.
This is not the first time that a fire has broken out in this location. According to firefighters, the vegetation is dry, very dense and composed mainly of niaoulis. This Thursday morning, the strong wind did not make their task easier. Eleven men, three civil security vehicles and two from the Koné-Pouembo rescue center are engaged on site, as well as a water bomber helicopter which has been making several return trips since 10:15 a.m.
Additional difficulty at the end of the morning: the wind has changed and now threatens the DITTT.
