Franck Gastambide strikes a new blow with his series entitled La Cage. This Netflix original production which immerses us in the raw and uncompromising world of mixed martial arts (MMA).

La Cage is a series that explores in depth behind the scenes of mixed martial arts. It allows us to follow the adventures of a young MMA fighter determined to break into the professional world. His journey strewn with pitfalls is punctuated by intensive training, personal sacrifices and an insatiable thirst for recognition. The scenario takes us into a breathtaking crescendo where each fight is a decisive step towards consecration.

The merciless world of La Cage

It’s good to know that this series doesn’t just give us spectacular fight scenes. La Cage also explores the complex relationships between fighters, their trainers and their loved ones. Friendship, rivalry, betrayal: all the ingredients of an exciting drama are there. Behind the scenes is laid bare, revealing the financial issues, media pressures and risks to the physical and mental health of athletes.

Striking realism

Franck Gastambide was able to brilliantly recreate the atmosphere of sports halls and MMA competitions through the images broadcast in La Cage. The choreography of the fights is neat, the actors are credible and the atmosphere is electric. The series therefore spares no effort to offer us an immersive and authentic experience. Beyond the show, this fiction carries a strong message about resilience, surpassing oneself and the quest for identity. The main character, through his trials, invites us to question our own limits and to never give up on our dreams.

A fiction inspired by real events?

If La Cage transports us into a realistic and raw universe, it is important to emphasize that the scenario is a work of fiction. Although the series is inspired by the codes and issues of the world of MMA, the characters and events narrated are the fruit of the imagination of its creators. The parallels with reality can be unsettling, but this is in no way a biography or documentary. Franck Gastambide has once again created an ambitious and successful work through this fiction. Which should appeal to fans of suspense series and combat sports enthusiasts.
