A body possibly that of the mother suspected of having killed her three children on Tuesday November 12, 2024 in Taninges (Haute-Savoie) was found Wednesday in a car in a small village on the Franco-Swiss border, close sources said. from file toAFP.
According to information sent by the Swiss police to French investigators, this is the 45-year-old woman sought since Tuesday.
The body which was found in Champéry (Swiss commune in the canton of Valais) has yet to be formally identified, sources close to the case said.
Three children aged 2 to 13
The three children, two boys aged 2 and 11 and a girl aged 13were discovered in a home in Taninges (Haute-Savoie) by their father this Tuesday. Dispatched to the scene around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, emergency services could only note the deaths.
Autopsies and additional assessments will be quickly carried out by the Grenoble Medico-Legal Institute (IML), but according to “initial findings, it is established that the victims have stab wounds”.
The mother, a 45-year-old teacher, considered depressed, was “actively sought” by the gendarmerie who had deployed a large force including around sixty gendarmes and a helicopter.
A blatant investigation for “intentional homicides” was opened and entrusted to the gendarmes of the Bonneville research brigade, with the support of the Chambéry research section, indicated to actu.fr the Bonneville prosecutor, Boris Duffau, in a press release.
