The case of the murder of a homeless man in Lyon takes on another dimension: according to AFP, the man arrested in this case is suspected of three other attempted homicides, notably in Évry (Essonne) and Dijon (Côte-d 'Gold).
Tuesday, November 12, a 32-year-old man suspected of having killed a homeless person the day before with a concrete block in Lyon (Rhône), was arrested at the Toulon station (Var). According to The Parisianhe is a Cameroonian national subject to an OQTF (obligation to leave French territory).

Before being arrested, the suspect was reported by the SNCF security service in a train traveling Tuesday evening between Marseille and Nice, after the attack on a 26-year-old woman, indicates a source close to the case. The latter received punches and a blow to the shin as she went to her place. The train controller then notified the police who intervened on board the train at Toulon station. The man was found and arrested on board one of the wagons.

A worrying profile
After his placement in police custody by the Toulon police, investigators realized that the man was the subject of a search warrant issued by an investigating judge in Essonne after a serious attack in Évry- Courcouronnes, last October 23.
In fact, a police officer from the Toulon emergency police recognized the attacker after seeing his photo. It is linked to various attacks across French territory and in Europe: an attempted intentional homicide in Evry (Essonne), a suspected homicide in Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin) and Lyon (Rhône), intentional violence in Dijon (Côte d’Or) as well as an attempted homicide in Rotterdam. The attack in Rotterdam dates back to the night of November 4 to 5 last year. A 37-year-old homeless man remains in hospital in a coma after being injured by a cinder block. In a wanted notice, Dutch police released images of a man aged around 30, wearing a black raincoat, blue pants and orange lace-up shoes. According to their call for witnesses, on the morning of the attack in Rotterdam, the suspect headed towards Breda, near the Belgian border, before taking a train to Antwerp or Brussels, in Belgium.

As for the murder of the homeless man in Lyon, it occurred on the night of Monday November 11 to Tuesday November 12. In images captured by a video surveillance camera, described by the city prosecutor's office, we can see a man striking a homeless man in the head with a concrete block.
The identity of the suspect is being verified and DNA analyzes have been launched to determine whether he is indeed the author of this violence which he could have perpetrated in several cities in France and in Rotterdam, in the Netherlands.
