The Givaudan Sense Color food coloring production plant, located in Louisville in the United States, was the scene of an explosion on Tuesday, killing two people and injuring several others.

“We are in mourning with the families, friends and loved ones of those who were killed and injured during this very difficult time,” a spokesperson for the Givaudan group told the AWP news agency. “We are in contact with them and are committed to supporting them in the days and weeks to come.”
City leaders said there was no ongoing threat to people in the immediate vicinity or to the surrounding community, the Geneva group relays. Damage was reported in some houses and buildings near the factory.
“We are in the early stages of investigating the causes of this incident and are cooperating with first responders and support agencies,” Givaudan said.
