Heavy rain fell on the Loire-Atlantique this Wednesday, June 19, 2024 in the morning. They gave rise to 170 interventions by firefighters at midday
indicates the departmental fire and rescue operational center, which specifies that The rainy episode which has crossed the department since 11:30 a.m. has led to numerous calls mainly for flooding.
The sectors of Châteaubriant, Nozay, Abbaretz, Issé and the Nantes metropolitan area are the most affected.
Three forward command posts
To cope with this influx of interventions, the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis) has set up four forward command posts coordinated by column leaders in Châteaubriant, Nozay and the Nantes metropolitan area
. Intervention groups various operations
strengthen these systems. 80 emergency vehicles and 130 firefighters were mobilized.
As a reminder, the department is on yellow rain-flood alert.
