It’s a price war, and it’s not for electric cars this time, but for new thermal cars. By attacking at 19,400 euros, the new Citroën C3 Aircross is placed below the new Dacia Duster….
Slashed prices from 19,400 euros for gasoline
The second generation of the Citroën C3 Aircross will be more affordable than the outgoing model, which started at 24,400 euros.
The new version is therefore 5,000 euros lower, a fairly enormous difference. Where the old one was offered with the 1.2 Puretech 110 hp, the new one uses the same unit with a power of 100 hp, coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox. It will also have the advantage of operating on a chain, and therefore of no longer suffering from the same reliability problems…
At the entry level You from 19,400 euros, the standard equipment will already include: manual air conditioning, smartphone station, automatic lighting, height adjustment of the driver’s seat, electric front windows, 40/60 folding rear seat, headlights and daytime running lights LED, 16″ rims, Citroën Advanced Comfort suspension, 6 airbags, active safety braking, active lane departure alert, driver attention alert, cruise control with speed limiter, recognition of speed limit signs, radars rear parking, automatic lighting. A large part of this equipment is now mandatory in Europe, with the new GSR2 safety standards!
Less than 28,000 euros for electric
The price is announced for electric under 28,000 euros, which is also very competitive in the segment. And at this level, it is not Dacia which is in the front but rather Chinese manufacturers, soon to be impacted by an increase in European customs duties.
Before the arrival of the Renault 4 E-TECH and Volkswagen ID.2 X, the Citroën ë-C3 Aircross should be quite unbeatable. It uses the 113 hp electric motor from the ë-C3, and the 44 kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery. The range should reach 300 km, and Citroën is already announcing a version better equipped with a battery with a range increased to 400 km. Quite the opposite of the more urban ë-C3, which will be available in a 200 km version, even cheaper!
The Citroën ë-C3 Aircross You will therefore be offered at 27,400 euros before bonus, or 23,400 euros for those who can claim the ecological bonus of 4,000 euros (available once every 3 years).
Alternative to electric, the 136 hp hybrid version, which will be offered at 25,500 euros in You finish. Those who want a 7-seater version will have to opt for this engine.
A well-equipped Max version
Those who do not want the lower prices can opt for the Max finish, which is even better equipped: 3D navigation, wireless smartphone charging, exterior mirrors with blind spot detection, front parking sensors, electrochromic interior mirror, aluminum rims. 17” Aragonite Diamond Cut alloy, white or black tinted roof, and 3D LED taillights.
A new alternative to the Duster and more
The new Citroën C3 Aircross is not only cheaper than the Dacia Duster, it goes even further with the possibility of being ordered as 7 seats, and its 100% electric engine. This newcomer also focuses on a completely renewed design, and an appreciable level of comfort. It would therefore be logical that we quickly find it in the 10 best sellers in France, given that SUVs are always more and more popular.
