GTA The Trilogy | Rockstar releases huge update

Yesterday, Rockstar Games released an unexpected update to GTA The Trilogy The Definitive Edition. This news was received very well by the community who have now been waiting for 3 years for the game to run without bugs. The update aims to correct many bugs and add new features relating to the graphics of the different games. Other highly requested improvements have finally been released.

On which platform?

Updates are available at Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 et PC. Rockstar stated that this update is only for Nextgen consoles and the PS4, Xbox One and Switch version will not receive an update. Curious for a game that turned on PlayStation 2. The updates are approximately 18.44 GB for GTA San Andreas8,83 Go pour GTA Vice City and 4.15 GB GTA III. These figures were taken from the PC versions of the three games in the trilogy.

Other improvements

Other improvements have been released to the trilogy. Bugs have been fixed in addition to improvements to please many fans of the license. Here are the changes made:

  • Reintroduction of heat haze and ambient clouds : Improved visual atmosphere with heat haze and clouds visible high in the sky.
  • Graphical improvements to characters and environments :
    • Fixed display issues on jeans.
    • Improvements to character animations for a more natural rendering.
    • Adjusted movement speed in water/swimming.
  • Ability to shoot while running (GTA III and Vice City): Players can now use Shotguns, Assault Rifles, and the Flamethrower while running.
  • Changing streetlight lighting : Street lamps now project orange light with flare effects, like in the original games.
  • Improved running and aiming animations : These animations have been adjusted for more fluidity.
  • Suppression des mentions de Grove Street Games : All references to Grove Street Games have been removed from the main menu and “Version by” text.

As mentioned earlier in the article, it is possible to activate a filter that “restores the look and feel of the sky in the original games.” The lighting of different areas, e.g. Los Santos, San Andreas, Las Venturas, etc., is now the same as it was in the original.
