• The young girl dragged into a hangar

It was 7:30 p.m. on the day of the incident. The police are approached by a young girl. She claims to have been the victim of gang rape.

She was in Square Regnault, near her home, in the company of a friend, when the three suspects approached her and dragged her by force into a hangar.

According to his account, they beat him, forced him to penetrate and perform fellatio, while making death threats and anti-Semitic remarks.

After the arrival of the police, the young girl was taken care of by the firefighters and transported to the Garches medical-judicial unit, indicates Agence France-Presse (AFP).

• An open investigation, the anti-Semitic character retained

Contacted by our branch, the Nanterre public prosecutor’s office confirmed having opened an open investigation on Saturday evening. It concerns acts of “aggravated rape of a minor aged 15”.

The investigations were immediately entrusted to the Courbevoie police station before being transferred, the next day, to the Hauts-de-Seine Territorial Family Protection Brigade.

Monday June 17, in the middle of the day, three teenagers aged 12 and 13 were taken into police custody. Two of them had been identified by the victim’s friend.

The next day, they were presented to an investigating judge as part of an open judicial investigation, notably on charges of “aggravated rape”, “aggravated sexual assault”, “attempted extortion”, “attack privacy”, “death threats”, “violence and insults, the latter two offenses being aggravated by their commission due to the victim’s affiliation to a religion”. The prosecution requests their placement in pre-trial detention.

• Two of the suspects indicted for “rape”

The same evening, two of the three minors were indicted on charges of “aggravated rape (in a meeting, of a minor aged 15 and in the presence of minors)”, “sexual assault in a meeting”, “attempted extortion”, ” violence committed in a meeting, against a minor aged 15 and for reasons of religion”, “violation of the privacy of private life by fixation”, “recording or transmission of the image of a person of a sexual nature”, “repeated death threat” and “insult on the grounds of religion”.

The third suspect is placed under the status of assisted witness concerning the facts of “rape”, but is indicted for the rest of the offenses referred to in the introductory indictment.

The youngest, aged 12, is the subject of a provisional judicial educational measure. The other two are placed under a committal warrant by the judge of freedoms and detention.

• The indignation of Gérald Darmanin and the mayor of Courbevoie

Invited on the BFMTV set this Wednesday, Gérald Darmanin reacted to this affair. “If the facts are true, they are absolutely despicable. Whether it is the rape of this young girl, and even more so if there is an anti-Semitic character, of course,” underlines the Minister of the Interior. It takes place, according to him, in a context where the “violence of minors is extremely strong”.

The Les Républicains (LR) mayor of Courbevoie, Jacques Kossowski, is calling for an exemplary sentence against the alleged perpetrators.

“They’re not human beings. You can’t be human when you do that. How come 14-year-old kids, first of all, are in the street and, secondly, thinking about this,” s ‘outrages the elected official.

And added: “This young girl, whatever happens in her life, she will not be able to forget it. It is marked for life. No one can tell you otherwise. And that is difficult. How is she going to live and how is she going to take care of all this? That’s what’s important.”

Jacques Kossowski hopes that the suspects will be judged as adults in view of the facts denounced by the young girl. More broadly, Gérald Darmanin suggests “thinking” about the “minority excuse”.
