Around 7 p.m., emergency services intervened on the Capitale highway (Félix Leclerc) near Ormière for an accident involving a motorcycle.
According to initial information from the Sûreté du Québec
For an unknown reason, the motorcyclist crossed the tracks and hit a cement wall demarcating the road construction site and the traffic lanes. The victim was apparently thrown to the other side of the cement wall.
From the first seconds of the accident, motorists stopped at the scene to help and call emergency services.
The SQ indicated during initial information that the victim had suffered serious injuries and feared for his life. Around 10:15 p.m., the Sûreté du Québec updated information on the victim’s condition. Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Élizabeth Marquis-Guy indicated that she no longer feared for the life of the motorcyclist.
The police carried out an analysis of the scene for investigation and two lanes were closed to traffic.
