Inflation has calmed but food prices remain high. The PCF is renewing its operation of selling Spanish oranges at cost prices this Wednesday in Mouysset.

“These oranges are sold at a small price, i.e. 1€ per kg” specify the representatives of the Communist Party. “These prices take into account transport and packaging costs. The PCF participates voluntarily and financially.”

Beyond the good deal for consumers in working-class neighborhoods of Tarbes, the operation aims to send messages against the high price of food products.

“There is no inevitability to increases in food products,” says the PCF, which says no to price increases. These increases are in reality the result of unprecedented speculation which finds its origins in the COVID crisis, the war in Ukraine and the European directives on
liberalization of the energy market.”

Beyond that, they plead for a shortening of the circuits. “Small producers show that we can make good products, without destroying the planet with intensive production, without massive use of fertilizers, pesticides and without monopolizing water resources.”

Sale this Wednesday, November 13 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Mouysset neighborhood center.
