The Russian Daniil Medvedev, 4th in the world, relaunched himself in the race for the semi-finals of the ATP Masters by dominating the Australian Alex De Minaur 6-2, 6-4, Tuesday in Turin.
A decisive match against Sinner
Medvedev, much more inspired than during his 6-4, 6-3 defeat against the American Taylor Fritz on Sunday, was never worried by the 9th in the world who this year discovered the “masters tournament”. The Russian was very critical after his defeat, criticizing in particular the quality of the balls.
Very aggressive, the Russian, winner of the event which brings together the eight best players of the year in 2020, took his opponent's serve from the third game and pocketed the first set in 40 minutes. De Minaur raised his level of play in the second set by notably finding his first service ball, but he ended up giving up his throw in the ninth game on a winning passing from Medvedev.
