As part of the college-high school liaison, the Latin teachers of the Diderot high school and the Prauthoy college organized, for their Latin students, on Friday June 7, a rusticatiounderstand “little stay in the countryside”.

During this day full of activities, the middle school students and their teacher, Ms. Kizirian, were able to discover the very beautiful Faverolles museum, which contains archaeological treasures linked to the mausoleum unearthed in the town since 1980. After this visit led by masterfully carried out by two young guides currently on internship and in civic service at the museum, the students reached the excavation site of the mausoleum on foot, where the high school students were waiting for them, in costume: they had in fact developed and set up in advance, with the help of their teacher, Ms. Rohrbach, a life-size puzzle course. “Private Quintus Bellator, sponsor of the mausoleum, was assassinated. The whole village is in mourning. Go meet its inhabitants to find out who the culprit is! » On a 2.5 km route, between forest paths and clearings, no less than thirteen characters with costumes and accessories were met by the young investigators to solve the case: the herbalist Aurelius Discordius, the charcoal burner Gaius Robustus, the priest Priamus Sacerdos, the bacchante Agave, etc.

After a packed picnic, middle and high school students participated in two workshops together. Under the leadership of Marie-Christine Blondelle and volunteers from the Segusia association, the young Latinists learned about making clay oil lamps. Finally, a lively Latin workshop, led by the two teachers and high school students, allowed everyone to properly close this exciting immersion.
