The Minister of Vocational Training, Amadou Moustapha Ndieck Sarre met this Thursday with the subgroup of partners in the development of technical vocational training in a meeting with the aim of getting in touch with them for a fruitful collaboration. “We came to have the first contact as Minister of Vocational Training but we also came to determine the new direction that the government of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye wants to give to this vocational and technical training,” he told the press, constant that we all, “we know that we are a particularly young country and the President of the Republic, as well as his Prime Minister and the entire government believe that the development of Senegal necessarily involves sustained industrialization. This industrialization can only take place if the young people of this country are trained. And today we are in partnership with friends who bring us a lot of things especially in the field of technical assistance, in the field of training and especially in the field of financing,” said Amadou Moustapha Ndieck Sarre.

Also, he emphasizes, “imagine that more than 188 billion have been ejected in our country in the field of professional training during these last four years. To tell you simply that our partners know very well the challenges of professional training and we want to strengthen this cooperation there”, rejoices the minister who will thus say that the perspectives lead us towards a territorialization of this professional training and the accessibility of this training by all the young people of this country.

According to Dr. Nina Neubecker, the leader of the vocational, technical and integration training subgroup, Senegal is currently facing well-known challenges in the vocational training sector and at the same time the large population of young people looking for quality training and jobs is also a great opportunity, a dividend for the country. “The task that brings us here is to discuss together with the government the Ministry of Vocational Training. It is also to see how we can respond to this enormous demand in terms of training for these young people and the partners, gathered today have been working for years with Senegal in the sector,” said Nina Neubecker, arguing that it is important for them to dialogue with the ministry because the government’s guidelines are their guidelines, the framework in which they work too. “The idea is to work together and support the government and all Senegalese structures involved in the country for vocational training but also technical services and integration,” said the head of the vocational, technical and integration training subgroup.
