The Croats are now down to twenty-five. Nikola Vlasic will indeed leave the Mark Brandenburg Resort in Neuruppin, the selection’s base camp located an hour north of Berlin, during the day on Tuesday. The Vatreni midfielder (26 years old, 56 caps and 8 goals) relapsed in training. An MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) revealed a slight rupture of muscle fibers in the thigh. “I am extremely sorry that due to this new injury I will not be able to help the team during this Euro, declared the Torino (ITA) player. I really did everything to prepare and I thank the coach and the staff”.

Zlatjo Dalic, the coach of Croatia called to face Albania this Wednesday in Hamburg (3 p.m.), would like to salute his player: “Nikola invested a lot of effort and energy to help the national team at the Euros and that is why I am very sorry for this muscle injury. We consciously accepted a certain risk, because we had an expanded squad with 26 players, and Nikola is an integral part of this team. Unfortunately, another injury occurred. I can only thank Nikola and wish him a speedy recovery and his return to the field at his best level.”
