Forwards Ismael Díaz and Abdiel Ayarza will miss the upcoming match against Costa Rica in the 2024-25 Concacaf Nations League quarterfinal due to injuries.

A statement from the Panamanian Federation (FPF) said their medical department reported that Ayarza suffered an external meniscus injury and reactive synovitis, requiring surgery.

Ayarza felt pain in his right knee after a training session on Saturday at the Virgilio Tejeira Andrión Stadium in Penonomé.

The player was transported to Panama City on Monday morning, where an MRI confirmed his absence for the match.

As for Díaz, the striker suffered a blow to his left hip while playing for his club, Universidad Católica, in the match against Aucas last Saturday, November 11, in the 13th day of the first division Ecuadorian.

The impact forced Díaz to be substituted in the final minutes of the match.
