This Monday, November 11 was not a public holiday for everyone. Montauban swimming 82 indeed welcomed the interdepartmental interclubs of the discipline, the day after the big regional interclub celebration. And it was the day after: the atmosphere was calmer around the pool, after the excitement of the flagship competition on Sunday, marked by the presence of Léon Marchand, renowned swimmer, and Anastasiia Kirpichnikova, silver medalist in the 1,500m freestyle at the Paris Olympic Games, as well as that of the best clubs in the Occitanie region. The team of volunteers and employees continued with a second day of competitions. The swimmers from Montauban swimming and Cahors swimming competed on the same program as the day before. In total, 11 teams were present for Montauban swimming.
Different generations together
Interclubs are a great opportunity to bring together different generations of swimmers. The young 11-year-old talents rub shoulders with other swimmers from the competition groups, master swimmers, and even their coaches, who did not hesitate to get their feet back in the water for the occasion. It’s a true intergenerational meeting where everyone, from the youngest to the most seasoned, competes to achieve their best times. The coaches were able to observe the progress of their swimmers, rejoicing at the promising performances of each. The MN82 is already preparing for the next stage, which will take place next weekend, November 16 and 17, in Albi. The swimmers will participate in the departmental confrontation, a qualifying competition for the French Benjamins championships, regional meetings and League championships.
