The discovery of the body of Moustapha Bâ, former Senegalese Minister of Finance, in Paris created an upheaval, especially since he was expected in London for training, reports L’Observateur. An unexpected disappearance, which occurred after several days of uncertainty, raises persistent questions about the exact circumstances of his death.
Why Paris when his official destination was London?
According to close sources, Moustapha Bâ regularly stayed in the French capital where he had a known address. However, there is no indication that he was going to Paris for medical reasons, contradicting rumors associating him with Grenoble for health care. Furthermore, contrary to some speculations, he did not disappear during a train ride.
Other elements add to the enigma: Bâ, under anticoagulant treatment since 2018, would have potentially sought to obtain medication in pharmacies, a plausible hypothesis although it has not been confirmed. However, he was found alone unconscious, without identity papers, which raises the question: why would he have left his hotel without his essential documents?
Faced with this worrying disappearance, his wife went to France to conduct her own research, which tragically ended up in a Parisian morgue. From now on, only the investigation entrusted to the Criminal Investigation Division (Dic) by the Dakar public prosecutor’s office could shed light on this matter, leaving Senegal awaiting answers.
