A young 18-year-old motorcyclist suffered serious injuries after colliding with a tractor unit Monday evening on Highway 40 in Quebec.

Around 7 p.m., emergency services were contacted for this accident which occurred eastbound near the Boulevard des Chutes exit.

The motorcyclist was transported to hospital for serious, non-life-threatening injuries.indicated the spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec, Élizabeth Marquis-Guy.

For the moment, no criminal element appears to be involved in this accident.

Lanes were blocked while emergency services intervened and vehicles were towed.
