The Saint-Malo Sports Union (USSM), has launched, since September 2021, an action to raise awareness of the Olympic Games among children attending schools in priority neighborhoods in the city of Saint-Malo (Ille- and-Vilaine).

This action, entitled My school? Land of games, land of sport! consists of offering three actions, to nine different classes per year. “A cycle of ten to twelve sessions of various physical activities, supervised by sports instructors employed by the club. A specific activity linked to the culture of the Olympic Games, led by the teacher of each class. And participation in a day of Olympics, co-organized by the club and the Primary Education Sports Union (Usep)allowing the nine classes to compete in sporting events »list those responsible.

650 children made aware each year

This action, planned over three years, is aimed at three different schools each year. It raises awareness among around 650 children.

Thursday June 13, 2024, an Olympiad day was organized at the Marville stadium. “We proposed an Olympic Games-type format with an opening ceremony, multiple events on the same site, a time to live together during the lunch break and a closing ceremony,” traces the organization.
