In a press release sent to the editorial staff, the Luz group announces the death of André Clady on Thursday June 13, following a long illness, at the age of 74.

Known on the optical market since the years 1975-80, André Clady first worked at Optic 2000 and was at the initiative of the concept of “2nd pair” with near vision equipment for the purchase progressive equipment.

Subsequently, he was hired at the professional press magazine “Inform’Optique”, before joining the Luz group with Sylvain Zana and Julien Uzzan in 1989, at the time when the center only had 100 member opticians.

First as development director where he traveled across France from north to south in search of opticians seeking independence, André Clady moved to the position of sales director a few years later and worked with eyewear and glass suppliers in the sector. to offer the best negotiations to Luz members.

He will retire after 25 years of good and loyal service to the Luz group in 2013.

Described by everyone as someone frank and direct, full of humor, kindness, humble and serious, he had excellent memories of discussions with Luzien(nes) opticians as well as suppliers and the optical press.
