Thénezay. A day of Olympic cohesion

Two highlights are organized each year at Jean-de-la-Fontaine college with a cross country at the start of the school year and a day of cohesion with CM1-CM2 students from public and private primary schools in the school sector. The latter took place Friday June 14 at the sports complex.

150 students from the schools of Thénezay, La Peyratte, La Ferrière, Assais, Gourgé and the 2 classes of 6e of the college were divided into 7 teams to participate in 7 workshops coordinated by Simon Devesa PE teacher with the assistance of teachers from the schools concerned. The activities with an Olympic theme were varied: disabled petanque, archery, frisbee golf, library, the mover’s game or throw and spin, a quiz on Olympic and Paralympic sports. Thanks to equipment from the USEP and the Thénezay tennis club, the students were introduced to wheelchair tennis with the advice of Éloïse Fosset, educator at the USEP.

This day was an opportunity for CM2 and 6e to exchange, to get to know the college where they had lunch on Friday. CM1 and CM2 students from the Germain-Rallon school, who will enter 6e in college at the next school year, as well as all their classmates already in 6th grade or who are about to enter will go to Paris on September 3 during the next Paralympic Games to attend a wheelchair tennis match on the Suzanne-Lenglen court at Roland Garros.
