A grandfather out for a walk with his grandchildren dies in a carriage accident in Bougnimont (Libramont)

New drama on our roads this Sunday. At around 2:46 p.m., a carriage swerved in Bougnimont, more precisely on the Route de la Tour. The team of horses was the only cause of the accident and the driver unfortunately died instantly.

The mayor of Libramont Laurence Crucifix was informed of the facts and went to the site. The latter confirmed that the deceased man was a resident of the Libramont region without disclosing his identity.

According to our colleagues from L’Avenir, the man is a 75-year-old farmer from the village of Bougnimont. He was walking in a carriage with his 4 grandchildren this Sunday when one of the horses ran away causing the carriage to overturn. The man unfortunately died instantly. One of his grandchildren was slightly injured but the others were safe.

The La Meuse editorial team extends its condolences to the victim’s family.

The construction of the new Delhaize in Arlon will not take place immediately: “The permit has not yet been granted”
