Le Comptoir de crème: the friendly restaurant in the 18th arrondissement, with plates to share

Le Comptoir de crème is the second address of Camille and Maxime, founders of the Crème restaurant a few meters further on. Located between Jules Joffrin and Simplon station in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, the restaurant offers plates to share in a friendly and trendy place.

THE Cream counter is the new address to discover in the Jules Joffrin district in the 18th arrondissement of Paris. Camille Coiffard and Maxime Guillemetthe founders, had already opened a first restaurant, Creamlocated rue Eugène Sue a few meters away.

The green storefront of Cream counter, and the people seated at the counters facing the street attract all eyes. In this restaurant, you don’t have to be afraid of being cramped, because the interior room is small, but very well arranged. Installed on chairs high up in the room or at the counter with a view of the street, the restaurant is very friendly and makes you want to talk with your table neighbors.

We go there with family, friends or lovers to have a good time. Large carafe of water, candlesticks with flowing wax, covered in steel pots: here, the atmosphere is relaxing, but is no less trendy. Open since May 30, 2024, their terrace, which will be located opposite in the street, opens its doors in a week. In the meantime, they share a few tables on the terrace with the restaurant opposite.

The concept ? Of the French plates to share with some fine wine. On the drinks side, you also have signature cocktails, draft beers and of course non-alcoholic drinks. The menu offers 10 savory plates and 2 sweet ones, and we recommend 2 savory plates for 3, accompanied by a dessert for sweet fans. THE Cream counter offers a varied menu, with French meat, fish and vegetarian tapas.

If you want to go for a gourmet option, we highly recommend the truffle croque monsieur, Comté, ham and truffled béchamel, a delight! Perfectly dosed at the level of the truffle in the béchamel, it is not too heavy and is ideal for sharing having already been cut in half. THE French tapas are served on retro paper like fast food from the 80s, with the pretty logo of the Cream counter. On a gourmet level, three cheese arancini are also worth the detour. Served hot by 3, they are comforting, although we would have loved a little extra sauce to dip them in. We enjoy our cheese-based dishes with one of the good red, white or rosé wines on the menu of wine bar.

Copiously served, the ceviche is marinated in coconut milk with cucumber and fresh mint. Roasted eggplants Cream counter, are beautifully presented, with half a roasted eggplant on your plate, covered in tahini, pomegranate and walnut sauce. If you have room for dessert, we fell in love with the house chocolate mousse ! Presented in a steel bowl in a canteen style, it is served with olive oil on top and a touch of coarse salt. Compact and delicious, it is worth the detour. For those less addicted to chocolate, the second dessert of Cream counter is a cut of two fruit sorbet balls, an interesting fresh option at the end of the meal.
