Sunday June 9, the Les Amis du pont des Roises association welcomed enthusiastic hikers for an unforgettable morning of hiking.
From 9 a.m., around sixty participants gathered in the village square, ready to explore the surrounding picturesque trails.
Two courses were offered: one of 5 km, the other of 13 km, allowing everyone to choose a challenge that suits them.
Under a radiant sun, the walkers enjoyed a warm atmosphere, reinforced by the presence of several walking clubs in the surrounding area. Among them, the Rouvroy-sur-Marne walking club particularly stood out for its strong participation.
The 5 km course was completed in less than an hour and a half while the more experienced completed the 13 km in less than three and a half hours on very hilly paths.
At the end of the hikes, everyone gathered for an aperitif followed by a country meal also organized by the Friends of the Pont des Roises association. This moment of sharing was a great success, with 110 guests gathered, a participation record for both the walkers and the meal.
Some hikers were joined by friends or family, adding to the warm atmosphere of this Sunday meal enhanced by games throughout the meal, contributing to a recreational atmosphere.
The participation of three quarters of Maconcourt residents demonstrated the community’s commitment to organizing and enjoying this exceptional day. All participants expressed their satisfaction at having taken part in this event. The meal, considered excellent and plentiful, ended the day in a delicious and joyful way.
Each year, the number of participants increases, and this edition clearly marked a record, confirming the growing success of this event. The Maconcourt hike remains an unmissable event, combining sport, nature and friendship, and promises to continue to bring together many lovers of walking and shared moments in the years to come.
