“I’m lucky to be here.” On Sunday, British chef Gordon Ramsay revealed on his Instagram account that he had been the victim of a serious cycling accident during the week.

“You know how much I love cycling,” he confides, facing the camera, before returning to his accident which really “shocked” him. “I had a very serious accident while cycling in Connecticut,” he adds, specifying that he did not suffer any fractures or major injuries.

The cook, known for his participation in the shows MasterChef and Nightmare in the Kitchen, nevertheless revealed a huge bruise on his hip. “I’m lucky to be here,” said Gordon Ramsay, who was especially keen to send a message of prevention to his 17.4 million subscribers.

“Wear a helmet!” », insisted the fifty-year-old, speaking directly to fathers of families on this Father’s Day. And added: “It doesn’t matter that it’s a short journey, that the helmets are expensive; (…) Even for a child’s short journey: they must wear a helmet.”

To support his message, he shared two photos before and after his accident, where we can see his broken helmet and his torn cycling jersey.

Gordon Ramsay also thanked all the healthcare staff who took care of him during this “brutal week”.
