North Korean troops in Russia reportedly gorge themselves on pornographic content when they discover unlimited internet

According to a journalist from the Financial Times, North Korean soldiers deployed in Ukraine are using their access to the Internet to massively consume pornography.

An astonishing discovery on the battlefield. While nearly 11,000 North Korean soldiers have been summoned to the battlefield on behalf of Russia, according to the Ukrainian government, these armed forces are occupied in an activity other than war.

Indeed, Gideon Rachman, specialist in foreign conflicts for the Financial Times, assures that “the North Korean soldiers who were deployed in Russia never had access to the Internet before their arrival.” Before continuing: “As a result, they gorge themselves on pornography.”

Faced with these allegations, the spokesperson for the American Department of Defense, Lieutenant-Colonel Charlie Dietz, was forced to respond to the media Task & Purpose: “As entertaining as this may sound, I cannot confirm any habits of the North “Koreans on the Internet nor their virtual ‘extracurricular’ activities in Russia,” he argued.

While Moscow refuses to comment on the presence of these soldiers on the front, their deployment on the ground raises doubt among most analysts. In particular, the language barrier and their limited number are at issue. However, they could “endure difficult conditions” and would be “rigorously trained,” according to Lim Eul-chul of Kyungnam University in Changwon (South Korea).

The head of American diplomacy, Blinken, had already mentioned a week ago a deployment of North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region, targeted by Ukrainian forces. According to him, they would be equipped with Russian uniforms and trained in artillery, drones and infantry operations.
