The details of the Ballon d’or votes will be revealed on Saturday November 9, in the new issue of . This Friday, the magazine published some figures on the coveted trophy, won this year by Rodri.

A small gap but not a record

Among them, 41, the number of points which separated the Manchester City player from Vinicius, his runner-up. A very small difference because each of the 99 jurors awarded, this year, 15 points for 1isthen 12, 10, 8, 7, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1. However, the media specifies that this is not a record. Thus, Rodri obtained 1,170 points, ahead of Vinicius Junior (1,129 points). Jude Bellingham (917 points), Dani Carvajal (550 points), Erling Haaland (432 points) and Kylian Mbappé (420 points) complete the top of the ranking.

Among the other figures, we can note nine players having been cited at least once in first place in the ranking. There are four players from Real Madrid (Vinicius, Bellingham, Carvajal and Kroos), but also Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, Lautaro Martinez, Ademola Lookman and obviously Rodri. This density at the level of the Merengue could therefore explain “point dispersions” for Vinicius, which would have allowed the Manchester City midfielder to triumph.

As a reminder, Real Madrid had announced that it was boycotting the Ballon d’Or ceremony only a few hours before the start of the latter.
