Support the democratic governance efforts initiated by the president of the transition, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema by providing the country with a new fundamental law. This is the objective pursued by the Ascendance association, which organized a large public meeting this Saturday, November 9, 2024 at the Libreville Chamber of Commerce.
Some 400 compatriots, including several members of the Ascendance association, met this Saturday around President Pambou Davy Joël and members of the Executive Office. Indeed, at the end of a careful reading of each article and each comma of the draft new Constitution which will be submitted to the referendum on November 16, 2024, the Ascendance association deemed it useful to invite all its members to mobilize by investing in ground in order to make the voice of Yes triumph.
A draft Constitution consistent with the ideals of Ascendancy
In accordance with its principles of solidarity, mutual aid and protection of vulnerable people, and after having identified several articles within this text, which respond to the problems of the Gabonese, Ascendance invited the participants not to depart from this responsibility of lead Gabon towards a system that is just, protective and guarantor of social and political rights. According to Pambou Davy Joël, this responsibility requires above all a massive mobilization in order to make the abstention lie “ A very lucid association about what is really at stake, Ascendance reiterates through my voice its vibrant call for massive participation of voters in this crucial consultation, even vital for Gabon”declared the president of Ascendance.
Addressing the question of voting instructions, Pambou Davy Joël pointed out the danger that a victory for the No could represent. “Saying No to this draft Constitution is doing more harm to Gabon than helping it progress”he warned. This is why, at the end of a question and answer game between the Executive Bureau and the audience, the objective of which was to enlighten the participants on the content of this text, the president of Ascendance called for a massive Yes. “I invite you all here present, as well as all the Gabonese populations, to mobilize as one Man so that this vibrant, salutary and indispensable YES of which our motherland has so much resounds in the Gabonese sky on the evening of November 16 need to move forward and continue on our path with pride and confidence”.
Remember that the Ascendance association, whose motto is “hand on heart for a smile”, is a non-profit movement, which helps vulnerable groups through solidarity actions.
