A municipal agent died in a tractor accident this Friday, June 14, 2024, in Putanges-le-Lac, in Orne. The emergency services and the gendarmerie were alerted around 11 a.m. at Chemin de Friche, by agents from the green spaces service who were carrying out maintenance work around the sports complex.

A fall of around ten meters
While driving a lawn tractor, the man fell about ten meters on a downward slope, then fell from the machine. “Despite the rapid intervention of emergency services, he could not be resuscitated. He died on the spot” , specifies the gendarmerie.
The victim, originally from Briouze, was 56 years old. He had worked for many years in the green spaces department in Putanges-le-Lac. “I have a thought for my agent, his colleagues, his family and his children. He was known to the entire population. His disappearance in such circumstances is terrible,” expressed Sébastien Leroux, the mayor.
An investigation was opened by the Argentan public prosecutor’s office to determine the causes of this work accident. It is entrusted to the Argentan gendarmerie brigade community.
