The left-wing parties announced that they had reached an agreement this Thursday evening, via a press release. A press conference is planned for this Friday at 11:30 a.m. to detail the main points.
“The image will be historic,” enthuses one of the negotiators. It’s done, an agreement has been reached between the parties of the “New Popular Front”. After four days and as many nights of negotiations, the left managed to reach an agreement for the legislative elections. The negotiations were concluded this Thursday, early in the evening.
The PS, the Ecologists, La France Insoumise, the French Communist Party and Place publique concluded their discussions on a common “government program”, and single candidacies in the constituencies. The announcement was formalized by the publication of a press release. “The Union is sealed”, it is stated in this joint declaration.
One of the first measures is the repeal of the pension reform and the unemployment insurance reform, but the rest of the program will be detailed during a press conference, scheduled for 11:30 a.m. this Friday, at the Maison de la Chimie in Paris. The main party leaders will be present.
The “New Popular Front” would also provide for an increase in the minimum wage to 1,600 euros net per month, the indexation of salaries to inflation and a 10% increase in the index point. The freezing of prices for essential goods in food, energy and fuel and the reestablishment of community policing should also feature in the measures presented by the alliance.
Hamas “terrorist massacres”
With this press conference, the left-wing leaders are using the same format as Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday, “except that it will be a moment full of hope”, promises one of them.
On the program: the presentation of the candidates invested. Only one per constituency, to avoid dispersion of votes. According to our information, the agreement plans to reinvest all those leaving, including Adrien Quatennens in the North. The rest of the conference will be devoted to the project, with the program for the first 100 days in the event of victory.
According to our information, there is also a part on the fight against anti-Semitism. A chapter will also be intended internationally. The October 7 attacks are described as “terrorist massacres”, but not Hamas itself. The program also calls for immediate recognition of the State of Palestine and an embargo on arms deliveries to Israel, while demanding the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian political prisoners.
Finally, on Ukraine, the integrity of the borders will be recognized, the sovereignty and freedom of the Ukrainian people will be defended and the sending of blue helmets to secure the nuclear power plants will be desired.
