On November 1, during the celebration of the 66th anniversary of the creation of the Guinean army, the President of the Transition Mamadi Doumbouya elevated several officers to the rank of general. We find among these, Aminata Diallo, current spokesperson for the National Committee of Rally for Development (CNRD) and general director of the National Social Security Fund for State Agents.
She is the best-known female figure in the junta. The Guineans discovered it the day after the putsch of September 5, 2021. But who is this young soldier with the thunderous voice?
Before the putsch, she was head of the Social Actions and Reintegration section in the personnel management division.
General Aminata Diallo is of the Fulani ethnic group. She is the daughter of the late Fatoumata Binta Diallo, aviation colonel and first female helicopter pilot in black Africa. After her primary and secondary studies in Guinea, she packed her bags for Morocco where she continued her university and military studies. She graduated as an officer and social worker from the social services training center in Rabat.
Back in her native country, she joined the military administration. Discreet, rigorous, dynamic, honest and respectful of her hierarchy, she quickly climbs the ranks. Before the military came to power in September 2021, she was Lieutenant-Colonel and head of the Social Actions and Reintegration section in the personnel management division.
Deputy Director of Military Pensions and Veterans
The Doumbouya regime then promoted her to Deputy Director of Military Pensions and Veterans, before making her the spokesperson for the CNRD and the General Director of the National Social Security Fund for State Agents.
General Aminata Diallo speaks fluent Fulani, his mother tongue, but also Malinké and Soussou, as well as French.
